Recently a parent reached out to our administration staff regarding the Corona virus. This communication is to help all of our families understand what we are doing regarding all viruses, including the corona virus and influenza: Our custodial staff has completed two different deep cleaning and disinfecting efforts covering touched objects and surfaces in every school building. We plan to continue this process. These deep cleaning sessions take place when the students are not in school to ensure we are able to cover all school areas.
Through our involvement in MASA, Columbia is staying up to date on the state-wide discussions taking place regarding this important issue between MDE, the Department of Health and Human Services, and other organizations. We believe that it is important for us to stay on top of any new information regarding prevention of the Coronavirus.

We will be sending reminders in our monthly newsletters about the importance of keeping students home when they are sick and information regarding proper hand washing strategies.
