Helping Your Student Transition from Summer to Back to School!
The lazy days of summer are winding down, and it's time to start thinking about the school year ahead! A smooth transition can make all the difference for your child's success and happiness. Here are a few tips to help you and your student get ready:
Adjust Sleep Schedules: In the week or two before school starts, gradually shift bedtime and wake-up times closer to the school routine. This will help prevent that first-day grogginess!
Practice the Routine: Walk the school route, find the bus stop, and even do a "practice run" of packing a lunch and backpack. Familiarity reduces anxiety!
Create a "Learning Space": Designate a quiet, comfortable area for homework and studying. Having a dedicated space signals to your child that it's time to focus.
Talk About Their Feelings: Chat with your child about their excitement and any worries they might have. Acknowledge their feelings and remind them of all the great things they'll experience, from seeing friends to learning new things.
Connect with the School: Check the school website for supply lists and important dates. We can't wait to see you all!

Update! Sinking Fund Roofing projects are making great progress. These photos show the updates at Columbia Upper Elementary School.
