Today is the 75th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Forces Integration Act, allowing women to serve in the U.S. Military! This is not a separate Veterans Day for Women-this is a groundbreaking day to honor the right of women to serve in the Armed Forces.

Women have been serving since the Revolutionary War in a variety of capacities as volunteers, clerics, and nurses.
There are 2 million Women Veterans in the United States
16.9% of those currently serving are Women.
There are 43,000 Female Veterans in Michigan
Women Veterans are the fastest growing demographic in the VA Healthcare System which has created expanding healthcare options including gender-specific care..
