The updated mask guidance for school transportation does not alter the current Columbia School District quarantine and close contact policy. If your child was notified that they are required to wear a mask due to being a close contact, they will still wear a mask in school and on the bus.
over 4 years ago, Pamela Campbell

Effective February 25, 2022, the CDC no longer requires wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. In accordance with the new guidance, Columbia School District is making the wearing of masks on our school busses optional.
- Columbia School District continues to strongly recommend that students and staff members wear masks as a mitigation strategy.
- If children are ill and are exhibiting symptoms on the bus or at school, Columbia School District administration will require that they go home until they are no longer symptomatic. Although we want your child in school to learn, we are committed to keeping our students and staff members safe.
Please be aware of your child’s physical condition and note any symptoms. Symptoms can include: Fever (>100.4 F), cough, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, runny or stuffy nose, loss of taste or smell, and/or abdominal pain. If your child has symptoms, please contact your physician, do not send your child to school.
- If you have any questions, please email:
