Update! Sinking Fund Roofing projects are progressing well.

Thanks to the continued support of our incredible Columbia School District community, a much-needed roofing project is now underway, fully funded by our sinking fund dollars!

We hope you continue to enjoy a wonderful Michigan summer! With the implementation of the sixth period schedule, there is also a change to "Golden Eagle Hour." This fall, we’re excited to launch an updated version of Golden Eagle Hour, shifting from two days a week to a full five-day model. This new schedule is designed to better support our students’ academic growth, emotional well-being, and engagement. Each day of the week will now have a unique focus, allowing students to benefit from targeted support and meaningful opportunities every day.
Two days a week with be academic focus days. One day will focus on clubs and organizations to meet, one day will focus on social emotional learning, and one day will focus on prepping for the SAT test and career exploration. The name will also change, calling it "Advisory" instead of "Golden Eagle Hour."

This is a fantastic opportunity for parents, staff, community members, and local businesses to come together, enjoy a day of golf, and support the students of Columbia School District! 2025-2026 Dress Code Reminder: A Focus on Respect, Readiness, and Responsibility

As you may start to consider the purchase of clothes for the upcoming 25-26 school year, we want to take a moment to highlight one of our continued areas of focus: upholding a school dress code that promotes a safe, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment for all students. Please take a moment to review the key dress code points below and discuss them with your student before the first day of school:
General Clothing Guidelines:
Tops must have straps or sleeves and must cover the entire torso from armpit to armpit.

Shorts must fully cover the buttocks while sitting or standing.

Clothing must not contain images, logos, or messages that are:

Obscene, lewd, or sexually explicit

Related to illegal substances (including those illegal for minors)

Inciting violence or threats

Associated with hate groups or hate speech

Disruptive to the school environment

Additional Expectations:
Headwear (hats, hoods, visors, sunglasses, etc.) is not permitted during school hours unless for designated spirit days.

Backpacks, coats, and blankets must be stored in lockers and may not be brought into classrooms or the cafeteria.

We understand that self-expression is important to students. This policy aims to strike a balance between individuality and the shared responsibility of creating a positive school climate. Thank you for your support in helping our students come to school ready to learn, respectful of others, and responsible for their environment.

WE DID IT! The Golden Crab is Ours! 🏆WHAT A NIGHT! One of Columbia's cunning crabs crawled past the Napoleon competition last night to regain the Golden Crab! Thanks to all who came out and showed their Eagle Spirit this summer!

Get Ready to Crab Race! 🦀Columbia Takes on Napoleon Tonight at 7:15 pm at the Beach Bar at Clark Lake. We need our incredible Eagle community to be there and cheer us on! Be there a few minutes early to help sing our fight song together and cheer on our racers!

Enjoy a professionally timed event supporting the Columbia Central Cross Country Team. Register by July 11th for pre-race day prices! (T-shirt deadline: July 9th for adults/family!)

Columbia Central Jr. & Sr. High School proudly hosted its 3rd Annual Champions Day —a heartwarming event that welcomed students from Jackson County ISD Central Campus, Lyle Torrant, and the Kit Young Center for a day filled with fun, connection, and celebration! CC students served as chaperones and teammates, guiding participants through Special Olympics-style activities including face painting, sidewalk chalk coloring, a variety of athletic events, and more. Champions Day continues to be a powerful tradition that brings our schools together and creates unforgettable memories for everyone involved.
