Our students at CES have been studying and celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In Mrs. Elliott‘s Young 5’s class the students were learning about his dreams. A student said “his dreams already came true!”#littleeagles #learningtodayleadingtomorrow

On Monday, January 25th, the Columbia Staff will have an opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Students will not attend school in person. Due to the nature of scheduling for vaccinations, Zoom links will not be available on Monday, January 25th. This will be a day of asynchronous learning. All students at Columbia Elementary School and Columbia Upper Elementary School will be given a paper packet on Friday, January 22nd to be completed by the student on Monday, January 25th. Chromebooks will not be distributed for use at home. Please have your child return the packet on Tuesday, January 26th. Thank you very much for your support of our staff during this time.

Check out the new dedication plaque in honor of Mrs. Judy Horning. She was a fabulous principal at CES who loved children and taught them the love of reading! Our Little Eagles are still reading and she would be so proud of them. 💙💛#LittleEagles

Our Little Eagles are wearing Blue & Gold today to show some school pride. Mrs. Aguilera's class likes twinning with Mrs. Lewis, Aide Extraordinaire!

Thank you to Holly Tilden, Tamara Petroski, Iris Klotz, Cindy Kirk and Lindsay Kandell for making our “Holiday Lunch” so special!

All students are invited to enjoy a free Holiday Lunch tomorrow, Thurs. Jan. 14th. Say yum to turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, a roll and a cookie. No other lunch choices will be available tomorrow. Your child may still pack their own lunch if they don’t care for the Holiday Lunch menu items. Thank you to our Columbia Food Service staff for planning this special celebration!

LOVE YOUR PLAYGROUND rewards were given to our students today. We had to modify the prizes that were earned because we are not able to mix cohorts of students. Your child will be bringing home a yellow envelope with their rewards enclosed. We asked them to wait until they are home with an adult before opening their prizes. Students who are virtual learners can pick up their prize envelope in their child's mailbox in the preschool lobby. Depending on your child's reward level, they will receive sludge slime, a multi-colored pen, light up heart glasses and gift cards to Wesco, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Subway, McDonalds and Village Peddler. Thank you to our community for supporting our playground!
If your child is a virtual learner and they helped raise money for the playground, please feel free to add a photo to our Facebook post so we can acknowledge them for their efforts.
