This Saturday, Jackson District Library will be hosting a Prom Photo Open House at the historic Carnegie branch in downtown Jackson. This event includes refreshments (sparking juice and cookies), photo backdrops for self-serve photos, and photo props with prom décor.

We would like to invite you to an important informational meeting regarding a proposed change to the daily schedule at our Jr./Sr. High School. We are exploring the implementation of a six-period day schedule and want to ensure that all families have the opportunity to learn more and ask any questions. A reminder that our 8th - 11th-grade students will be doing state testing this week (April 8-10). Please encourage your students to be in attendance for each day of testing. It is important that they have their Chromebooks charged the night before each testing day. We wish all of our students to give their very best effort and are very proud of their dedication and resilience!

It's been an exciting festival season for our Columbia music program! In our Choir area, both Junior High and High School choirs received a 1st division rating! In our band area, our Junior High Band received a 2nd division "excellent" rating, and our High School Concert band received straight 1's from all judges, resulting in a 1st division "superior" rating! Our Golden Eagle Jazz Band also participated in some festivals, although these were unrated, they had great performances at the District Jazz Festival, and at the Central Michigan University Jazz Weekend performance. Congratulations to all of our performers on a successful festival season, your hard work has paid off!

In Ms. Anderson's English class, the students did a "Be Like" project. The objective of the project was to pick a person who has personal characteristic traits that they want to be like. The students' projects are displayed on one of the walls in the junior high wing.
