We’re proud of our Columbia Central High School students, Claire Roberts and Kaylin Choate, who showcased their hard work, dedication, and care for their FFA and 4-H animals at the Jackson County Fair! From early mornings in the barn to late nights preparing for shows, these students demonstrated responsibility, perseverance, and pride in their projects. Congratulations on representing our school and community so well! 💙💛

This week, our talented Columbia Central High School band students have been working hard, sweating through the heat, and having a blast at Band Camp 2025!
From early morning sectionals to full ensemble rehearsals, our Golden Eagles are marching toward an amazing season full of school spirit, music, and memories.
Huge shoutout to our band director, Anthony Stout, staff, student leaders, and parents for making this week a success. The dedication and energy from our band family is unmatched!

Athletic Department Reminders: The fall season parent meeting is tomorrow, August 5th, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the Auditorium. This is for all fall sport families, grades 6-12.
Additionally, we are one week away from the start of the High School season! All student-athletes must have an up-to-date account on Final Forms to participate, meaning their account must be GREEN to be considered eligible. If their account is RED, they are not eligible. If you have any questions, please email Robyn.Hall@myeagles.org.

Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, Columbia Central Junior/Senior High School will no longer host traditional parent/teacher conference nights as part of our regular school calendar.
This decision comes after thoughtful consideration of:
Low attendance trends at scheduled conferences
Increased use of real-time communication tools (such as email, Rooms via Thrillshare, PowerSchool, and Google Classroom)
A shift toward ongoing, personalized communication between families and staff throughout the year
Instead of designated conference nights, we will emphasize:
Timely academic updates via PowerSchool.
Flexible parent-teacher communication, including scheduled calls, emails, or meetings upon request
More frequent classroom updates via Google Classroom to keep you informed
Our goal remains the same: to build strong partnerships between home and school. We believe this flexible, more personalized approach will better meet the needs of both families and staff.
If you would like to schedule a time to speak with your child’s teacher during the year, we encourage you to reach out directly. We are always here to support student success.
As part of our continued efforts to ensure the most effective use of instructional tools and district resources, Columbia Central Junior High will be transitioning away from the 1:1 Chromebook model for students beginning in the 2025–2026 school year.
This decision was made after careful evaluation of student device usage, instructional impact, maintenance costs, and teacher feedback. In many classrooms, shared devices and structured technology integration have proven more effective than daily, individual Chromebook use.
What this means for your student:
Devices will still be readily available in classrooms as needed for instruction.
Teachers will continue integrating educational technology intentionally and purposefully.
Students will no longer take Chromebooks home or carry them between classes.
We remain committed to providing a high-quality, balanced educational experience that emphasizes both academic growth and responsible technology use. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the high school office.
