We are pleased to announce that one of the high school students' pieces of art was chosen to move on from the regional art show to the state art show (Top 100 in the state of Michigan) and is currently on display at Washtenaw Community College with a reception this Friday from 5:30-7:30 PM! The state show takes place at Adrian College (Dates/ times TBA). Congratulations to Aubrey Wyse for this honor!
The AP English classes finished another unit this week and are gearing up for Frankenstein in AP. They’ve worked really hard, so they did some Friday fun and were surprised with some art therapy.
They started with a brief "what's true about Frankenstein" quiz, and students tested their knowledge based on what actually happens in the novel, versus pop culture references and Hollywood's additions to the story. Afterward, students got to make their own creatures that will "read" along with us as we work through the novel.

Concession Stand Volunteers Needed this Saturday, the 14th!
Columbia Central is hosting two huge events this weekend, and we are still in need of volunteers in the concession stand.
Friday night, the annual Cheer for Charity event will take place, and Saturday night, we are hosting the Cascade Conference Championship Boys Varsity basketball games.
Help is desperately needed Saturday night, so please look over your schedule and see if you can volunteer a few hours (6:30-8:30 p.m.) so we can ensure that our guests & spectators are well taken care of!

Tomorrow, February 11th is Count Day. Please be sure your student is at school on time and here for the day. High attendance ensures schools receive maximum funding for teachers, services, and supplies to make our school successful. We thank you for your help with this. 💙💛
