Welcome Letter from Mrs. Wright

Dear CES Families,

I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer!  I am very grateful to be taking on the role of CES Principal for the 2018-2019 school year.  I am so proud of all that CES has accomplished and look forward with      excitement to an awesome year!  A few things that may be helpful for you to know as we begin the 2018-2019 school year:

STAFF CHANGES

We welcome the following staff members who are experienced professionals taking on new positions:

Mrs. Elliott in Young 5’s, Mrs. Lape in Second Grade, Mrs. Coughlin in Reading Recovery, Mrs. Howland in Kindergarten and Mrs. Douglas in the library!

BREAKFAST PROGRAM

CES & CUES will be offering free breakfast for every student this year!  Students at CES can enjoy free breakfast anytime from 7:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.  Students will also have the option to take a grab-and-go breakfast as a snack if they have already eaten breakfast at home.  A special thank you to our Food Service Director, Lindsay Beaulieu, for applying for the grant that allows us to have this helpful program.

BROOKLYN BUDDIES

If you would like to mentor a student in first or second grade, we would love to have you be part of our Brooklyn Buddies program.  Available session times are Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 8:45, 9:20 or 10:00 a.m. You would be partnered with a child who would benefit from your support in reading and playing math games.

CHILDCARE & PRESCHOOL - Please visit our PreSchool & Childcare at our Open House! The Open House will be held August 20h from 5:30-7:00 pm.

If you are interested in childcare and preschool, please call 517-592-9753 for more information.  We also  offer childcare beginning at 6:30 a.m. and after school until 6:00 p.m.

Our school has set several academic goals this year in math, reading and          science.  Students will be learning about healthy eating and how to grow socially and emotionally.  We will also be focusing on our school motto to “Work Hard & Be Kind!” We are so grateful for the partnership we have with you to work toward these goals.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.

Looking forward to a wonderful year,
