SUMMER READING ADVENTURE 2020

Mrs. Coughlin and Mrs. Cripe are reading interventionists at CES and CUES. They are busy at work with 31 readers in  “Summer Reading Adventure” sessions.  Each student received a string backpack filled with a set of books, composition book, sticky notes, a whiteboard, washable markers, pencils, a bookmark, highlighters, dry erase markers, pencil case, pencil sharpener, poster board, pens, and a box of crayons.

Students are enjoying reading “Junie b.Jones,” “Box Car Children” or “Lemonade Wars.”  All three stories are humorous and the students are enjoying them so much! Students participate in Zoom Lessons, meet with peers in groups of three, work on comprehension strategies, complete reading homework and are assessed by the reading specialists. The students are encouraged to draw scenes from the story and enjoy playing games to build vocabulary, fluency and decoding skills.

Mrs. Wright and Mrs.VanWagnen applied for a grant that funds this amazing program to ensure continued success in Reading at CES and CUES!   #ItsAGreatDayToBeAGoldenEagle
