Congratulations to Columbia's jr. high robotics team, Nerds United 13748. Just two weeks ago they submitted the highest scoring run at their regionals competition, received the Innovate Award, and qualified for the State competition that took place this week...while most of them were traveling to Washington DC on their school fieldtrip. Not to be left out, they quickly recorded and scored their six competition runs before leaving and left their fates in the hands of their lone remaining teammate, Joe. We're proud to announce that Nerds United received the Collins Aerospace Innovate Award, at the competition which hosted the best 52 teams in Michigan FTC robotics, for their turret design and target-locking, vision processing system. 💙🦅💛 Here they are!!! Our magnificent Girls on the M.O.V.E. girls...just like our new theme song “La Magnifica!” 🙌💫 We had thirteen 5th and 6th grade girls yesterday (4/27), and they were a fantastic group!🙌💜 We also had four outstanding 8th grade role model helpers! Thank you so much Jordan, Olivia, Allie and McDee!🙌 🙌🙌🙌 Our topic was “resilience” and girls decorated their frames with affirmation statements. They danced for the first time ever to our new theme song with Zumba with Rosa, and we had a logo t-shirt giveaway activity!⭐️ They also received their Mindfulness Workbooks 💜(if they didn’t already have one from the February session). Thank you Columbia Upper Elementary School and Columbia School District! **Note: We are ordering a few more copies for the girls. It was a wonderful session with really great girls. For the group photo at the end they spontaneously called out “Girls on the M.O.V.E.” in unison!💜 🙌😊 Thank you to all for the amazing support and help!!!!
We had guest speakers from the Holocaust Memorial Center (in Farmington Hills, MI) zoom in today to present to Mr. Parkinson's US History classes and Mr. May's AP US History course. It was an awesome experience! Students were engaged in a forum about the Holocaust and the return to "normalcy" for the victims of this awful genocide. Even though we are in the midst of a pandemic, the students were able to ask in-depth questions and receive insightful feedback from the professionals of this organization.

From the Facebook group bowling friends in Jackson, a long message for our students who may want to be bowlers in high school:🎳🎳🎳 I know there are a few High School student athlete bowlers in this group, so I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts. Now that your season is over, take some time to reflect on yours & your teams season. Did you perform the way you wanted too? Was your school as successful as you anticipated? Did you improve individually and as a team player? Most importantly, DID YOU HAVE FUN?!?! Reflect a bit. Take some time to truly think about your season. As much bowling as you have done over the past couple of months, you understandably need a break. Take a couple of weeks off. Clear your mind. Let your body & mind decompress. Keep yourself from getting burned out. Then, come back and start bowling again!!!! Don't wait until September/October to pick up your bowling ball again. Come out and practice at least every other week through the summer. Even if it's just a game or two. Don't let your game get stale. Plus, the bowling center that has supported you & your team during your season could use the business. Summers are a challenge for every center. With last years shutdown(s), it is important to support those who have supported you. Once we get closer to the season, go to the pro shop of your choice and have your grip analyzed. Our bodies are constantly changing. Even more so in your teenage years. It is very important to have the proper fit in your bowling ball. I know most of the pro shops in the area try and help High School student athletes out with reduced prices on maintenance and refitting. This way, you may be a step or two ahead of your competition. Whether it be for a spot on your High School team, or an opposing High School. But the most important thing to remember about any sport you participate in, have fun!!

From Coach Hall and Raab: Congratulations to Izzi Green today for a great performance at the MHSAA State Finals in Jackson. It was a tough field of 60 and throughout the day she flirted with the top 16. At one point she was as high as 19th place just 13 from the cut line of 16th. In the end game 6 was tough filled with some tough breaks and bad splits. A 40th place finish made your coaches proud. You join an elite fraternity of Golden Eagle bowlers that have made the state finals and you held your own among some of the best in the state. Great job Izzi!!
Results following game #3; 1st place is 622 16th is 530 💙🦅💛🎳 Izzi is at 518, 12 pins below the cut.
Way to go! Izzi’s Game #1 = 189, Highest game bowled of the 12 lanes surrounding her!💙🦅💛🎳👏

Congratulations to Noah King, Marcus Wood and Thomas Sturdevant for qualifying for Regionals next Saturday at Constantine.💙🦅💛👏
💛🎳💙🦅👏Congratulations to Izzi Green!! Izzi finished 9th today in the Region 15 MHSAA Regional competition in Niles, MI making her the third girl in CCHS history to qualify for the MHSSA Finals. Coaches around the LCAA have been talking about the CCHS girls bowling team. They’ve been talking about how well they’ve been bowling, how improved they are and how this young squad is gonna be a force to be reckoned with in the future. Izzi Green walked in to the Regional tournament today and said don’t forget about what’s here right now. The team had a slow start in game 1 with a 754 but the girls fired back in game 2 with a season high 889 led by Izzi’s career high 232 and a 201 from Shanna Detloff. As the lanes transitioned in games 3 and 4 the team held their own with games of 716 and 787 for a solid 7th place finish. It was a great day for all the Golden Eagle ladies Izzi led the Eagles and averaged 183 for the day followed by Shanna at 172, Niya Holbert at 164, and Amber Johnson at 162. Sophie Kerr and Lorelei Mortimer combined for a 106 average making this a true team effort. Congratulations to all the Golden Eagle Girls for a fantastic season and good luck to Izzi Green next Saturday at the MHSA state finals at Jax 60 in Jackson.
Unfortunately, last night was the end of the season for us. Saying that, we have NEVER been more proud of the team that rose up and competed last night. Through countless setbacks YOU made it happen! From throwing in three girls who have never competed round two before, to rearranging stunt groups and learning new spots for round one, these girls proved that they don’t ever stop fighting. Our crazy ride may be over this time, but we won’t be down for long. We have so much pride in what they have overcome, not only this season but last night alone. No one can ever take that away from us. CCVC Forever! 💗✨ #CCVC #BetterTogether
Congratulations! JV girls defeated Dundee 33 to 19!💙🦅💛🏀

Columbia Central High School students interested in playing JV or Varsity softball this season 🥎 should attend the meeting at the CCHS cafeteria on Sunday, March 21st with Coach Steele. Parents are welcome to attend the meeting.
💙🎳💛🦅From coach Eric Hall While the season ended today with an 11th place finish Diana and I couldn’t be more proud of how this group of young men pulled together as a team. It was a very difficult year with all kinds of new challenges and they handled it well. On top of COVID these guys navigated a new practice facility, a condensed season, a new bowling center for Regionals, a super demanding condition not to mention some lingering knee and back injuries. They showed a ton of grit and determination and should stand proud of the work they put in this entire season. Congratulations to Caleb Gritzmaker. He was the highest qualifier in singles for the Golden Eagles today in 18th place, just 36 pins from a qualifying spot! Congratulations to our Seniors Gage and Matt on their final tournament and a huge high five to Blake Farmer and Landon Miller who couldn’t make the trip due to new roster restrictions. Great Job guys!
Brandywine High School will live stream the MHSAA Regional #15 Bowling on both Friday and Saturday from Joey Armadillos. We will be using three cameras across the alleys for the coverage. Here are the directions for accessing the channels: Go to http://www.Brandywinebobcats.org Find "Athletics" and click on that Move cursor arrow down to "Brandywine Bobcat Live Stream" and click "Bobcat Athletics 1", "Bobcat Athletics 2", and "OnBase Productions", all three will have lane coverage. This will give you coverage from the left side of the alley (lane 1 is at that end), the middle of the alley, and the right side of the alley (lane 24 is in that shot). ⚠️💙💛COLUMBIA CENTRAL HS will be on lane 11, with Hillsdale on 12.
