Class of 2020 Update

Good Afternoon Class of 2020,

I hope you are staying healthy and safe. This morning we learned Governor Whitmer's Executive Order has closed school buildings, suspending in person instruction, through the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic school year.   I know the feeling of disappointment and uncertainty right now is challenging but we will make the best of our future options to celebrate your achievements and be sure you are a part of choosing this process.  While the end of your Senior year may not be traditional, it will remain special, and it will honor each of you as you deserve.

Our scheduled commencement at the Jackson College Potter Center will not take place on May 31.  We are working on developing ideas for graduation and will plan to survey seniors and their families in the coming weeks to make a final determination.  Please feel free to share ideas you have regarding a commencement and other Senior celebrations with me.

In the meantime, please be sure to complete the following information by April 13.

  • Email Nianne Prendel, nianne.prendel@myeagles.org ,Junior High/High School Administrative Assistant, the first, middle, last name, and suffix (if applicable) as you would like it to appear on your diploma.
  • Email Kendon Smith, kendon.smith@myeagles.org, Audio Visual Teacher, a baby photo and senior photo for our graduation video.
  • Email Lauren Kimble, lauren.kimble@myeagles.org, Senior Class Advisor, ideas for the Class of 2020 graduation t-shirt.

While we are apart, please take time to send each other messages of love, encouragement, and hope.  As I shared with you before the Class of 2020 is caring, strong and united!  I miss each of you and look forward to being able to reconnect when we are able to take time to honor your accomplishments and achievements!

I will keep in touch with you moving forward.  Please reach out to me with ideas or any questions you may have.

Please take care!

Sincerely,

Mrs. O'Neil
