the yearbook only preorders will be accepted. If the yearbook is ordered
before February 28th the cost is only $55.
After March 1st the cost increases to
$60. After May 1st the cost increases
to $65. After May 7th preordering
will close.
Common Questions
Why are the yearbooks so expensive?
The printing company controls the price of printing a yearbook. The average
budget for the class is about $25,000 a year. This budget includes printing
the yearbook, film development, and camera equipment upkeep/purchase. Due to
budget constraints, Columbia Schools is unable to allocate money to the
yearbook class. This year, Jostenss Printing Company took over the account
and was able to offer a price break allowing the staff to keep the price of
a yearbook at $55 (if ordered on time) while upgrading to a full color book. Usually 300
yearbooks are sold per year so the math demonstrates that the yearbook staff
must raise several thousand dollars a year to break even.
